NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety - accredited classroom or online H&S course
The NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety delivers the practical skills and knowledge required by supervisors, managers and other professionals responsible for managing safety on construction sites.
Focusing on the primary legal requirements related to construction health & safety in the UK, this three-week course consists of two theoretical units that focus on health & safety management and the specificities of managing & controlling hazards in construction environments. These are followed by a practical unit that will assess delegates in a suitable construction workplace. Though focusing on UK regulations, successful completion of these assessments will qualify professionals for associate membership of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM), as well as technician grade membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (Tech IOSH).
The British Safety Council also offers an online version of this course, giving delegates 12 months to complete the course & assessments with remote support from a highly qualified teaching team.
Suitability - Who should attend?
The NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety is suitable for supervisors, managers, CDM co-ordinators and other construction professionals looking to develop skills in identifying and controlling construction workplace hazards.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
Candidates who are successful in the assessments will be awarded a certificate from the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) – a nationally recognised and respected industry body.

The course is structured as follows:
- Unit 1: NGC1 Management of safety and health
- Unit 2: NCC1 Managing and controlling hazards in construction activities
- Unit 3: NCC2 Practical assessment – carried out in a suitable construction workplace.
